From the fire to today: rebuilding the Panorama
2022
On July 18, 2022, the Panorama du Pyla campsite was struck by the massive wildfire that devastated the region. We remember with emotion that tragic moment which destroyed our campsite. Despite the courage and tireless work of the intervention teams, the flames swept away decades of memories, laughter and family holidays. It was a tremendous shock for our family and our teams, annihilating more than 40 years of work, encounters and shared moments.
Fortunately, amid this disaster, the essential was preserved: all our holidaymakers and colleagues were safe, thanks to the heroic intervention of the firefighters. Although our beloved pine forest disappeared, your unwavering support gave us the strength to rebuild and move forward.
In October 2022, we were finally allowed to return to the site to begin working. We came back, with heavy hearts, with a single goal: reopening in July 2023.

2023
In January 2023, the news came: we would reopen the campsite on July 1st!
A campsite with 100% pitches! The objective: rebuild three sanitary blocks and the aquatic area, clean and prepare the pitches, shape and cut burnt trees, and ensure all services thanks to prefabricated buildings (reception, grocery store, restaurant).
This first season was a success, filled with emotion and energy, giving us even more strength to continue the reconstruction!

2024
Reconstruction accelerated: two new sanitary blocks were built, as well as the grocery store, restaurant building, crêperie, a new slide and 50 cottages. Many local tree species were planted to bring life back to the site and help revive this exceptional setting.
A busy winter allowed us to reopen on June 14th with a campsite that is getting closer and closer to what it was before 2022 !

2025
The 2025 season marked another major step in the reconstruction. In spring, the reception, the workshop and the seasonal accommodation were rebuilt. The final adjustments of the restaurant Le Panorama were completed, offering a fully renovated terrace and the same magical view of the Banc d’Arguin.
30 new cottages and 15 lodge tents were installed, further expanding our accommodation offer.
Thanks to these improvements, we were able to open on June 13th, 2025, with a more complete and comfortable campsite than ever before.

2026
In 2026, the rebirth of the Panorama du Pyla campsite enters its final phase. After four years of effort, resilience and passion, we continue to improve and refine every space to restore the comfort, atmosphere and charm of the pre-2022 campsite.
On the programme: final landscaping, continued planting to restore a dense, natural pine forest, improvement of pathways, reconstruction of the last 2 sanitary blocks and the final 10 chalets...
